Karma is something that is often very much misunderstood. This brief explanation should help bring clarity to the concept. Karma is often thought of as some out there concept of "you did something good" so "God" or something is rewarding you, or "you did something bad" and now some Super Power is punishing you... This is not really an accurate understanding of Karma. Karma literally means action, there are other words for action in sanskrit, so Karma also is a particular aspect of action. Actions are never just an isolated incident. For example, there was the action of turning on the computer so now it is on and you can engage in the internet or all the other activities that go along with your computer. Earlier you got in your car and drove home from work so now you are Home. That is Karma - it is very Simple.
Sometimes the effects of our actions may not always be apparent, as there is infinite dimensions to Being, some of course very subtle, or perhaps have been out of the normal habit of perception. For example there is the data of the Numerous Experiments that have been done which show that by having a certain group of people meditating, the whole community or town became more peaceful and crime rates dropped. Even those that are not meditating are effected by the actions(Karma) of the group, actually the group is affected in a positive way by the Positive Experience and Awareness (such as meditation) of Each ONE! This is also Karma working in the same way as the clearly logically seen way of "i put the pizza in the oven and so now it is hot" or "i am always loving, kind, and of service to everyone, so naturally everyone is the same towards me when i am in need"... In Carlos Castaneda's Don Juan Books - Don Juan Said somewhere "Either work to make yourself (the world) Happy or miserable, the work is the Same, the Choice is Yours..."
